Default $20+ to gas up!

Filled up the scooter this morning - over $20.

memory lane time - back in the '60's I had a 409 ci Chevy Impala, maybe 8 mpg (on a good day) and I bought gas a dollar's worth at a time.

Yep, I remember being able to buy $1 worth of gas and it actually moved the needle on the gas gauge. The only thing I can fill up for $1 today is maybe my chain saw!

Just 6 years ago I could fill up a car cheaper than I can fill up the bike today. I remember when people screamed when gas topped the $.50 a gallon mark. And the .9 at the end changed from time to time.

I remember paying less than 20 cents a gallon in the 60s. Now it goes up that much in a day.

The old Econoline gets $20/30 every week on a straight 6 & keeps me working without needing more--sorry its not a bike--but I could probably fit a diesel engine in the Birdhouse & get a little better. 300K miles between rebuilds could be nice.

Back in '89 when I turned 14 and got a moped, I remember gas being around a dollar a gallon. Filled the bike up this morning and cost $3.93 for 91 octane. A little over $20 to fill up.
