Settle down you old farts...lets put other things in perspective:

Between 1960 and 1969:

Average salary: $4,743
Minimum wage: $1 per hour

Minimum wage now is a Federal mandate of at least $7.25.....and the average salary between 2000 and 2010 was almost $37,000.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to be paying $.35 per gallon for gas, but I'd also be pissed if my salary was only $5k a year. Its 2012, stop living in the past!!!

Yep filled the bike up yesterday and it cost $17, just a tad over 4 gallons. Filled up the diesel about 36 gallons...$154!

Default detroit '50s

As a child growing up in Detroit during the 1950s I remember seeing an "oak" gas station's sign out front showing 13 cents per gallon. How the hell can obama power Los Angeles on wind? Gimme a freaggen break!

When I was a senior in high school, my hourly wage would buy about 9 gallons of gas (admittedly, high pay for a student then). Working at my highest wage earned, 2002, around 20 gallons. Retired, today, (no hourly wage anymore, but equivalent) about 4 gallons. Depends on what you make, and what point in the past; for some of us, the past was way better than the present for fuel prices. When I was in college, had a little Honda 50 (one with a top tank and 4 speed, not the step through), seldom put more than 10 cents of gas in it.

Energy Secretary Chu testified this week that the goal of Obama's energy department is to decrease our dependency on oil, not lower oil prices.

Don't worry though. You will be able to get a $10k tax credit when you buy your $100k Tesla luxury sports car.

How working class people can vote for Democrats astounds me. They are elitist, and only use the working class for votes.

Well I've seen it before , was paying about $25 US a fill up when I was running around Europe in 1988 . Big oil has been jockeying to get us there for a long time , buy stock in Preparation H we're going to need it before we get that clown in office out .

Oh ya gas was .18 cents a gal when I first started riding and it was still 100 octane
