I've had my 1986 FXSTC since it was new. The only bike beside my 08 FXCWC that had me considering a new one was the 2005 RKC.
I didn't want it that bad though.
First picture I saw of the FXCWC in blue, I called the dealer and placed a deposit on the first blue one they got in.

It's not that I couldn't afford other bikes. None had my interest enough to go get one.
It's not always about money.

My keeper and someday my son's bike is my '53 FL- only had it since '99 though.

Traded my '42 WLA and $2K for it (all the money I had at the time)

I still park it in my living room.

Oh I'm not defending , most know I could care what they think . Different strokes kind thing for me . My sig bike ....well I can't explain it honestly just something about her that talks to my soul so to speak , anything else is just another bike .

I'm not in a small club there , some of us are just wired that way . I like older iron that's all , money isn't an issue if I want one I just don't .

[QUOTE=dickey;9465223]Bought my first new Harley from B&D Rahway in '88. Salesman was Wayne. What was the name of the indy that was on the same side of 1-9 a block or so up from B&D? Do you remember Mouse?

That was Leo. If I remember correctly he was Bill's nephew. He used to work out of his mom's garage before he got the shop on the highway. It's been gone for a few years now that they redid the highway. He just closed up shop. I asked him where he was moving to and he said he's not. Years earlier I met George mouse. His thing was older english bikes. Up until a few years ago he had a building in Elizabeth on 1&9, Don't know if he's still around tho. He has to be getting long in the tooth if he still around.,,

Got my first Harley ('41UL) in '78.

That is one nice lookin' sled, BTW!
i remember Wayne and remember Mouse's shop over on 1+9 in Elizabeth. Leo owned Deals and Wheels 1/2 block from B+D Gary was the counter guy I think. Remember Big Macs Bar on 1+9 also? Interesting times.

WTF! Not about money I ride old iron because I like to ride old iron.

Hell have you ever looked at the prices on some of the real vintage motorcycles? Take a look and see what an authentic 36 Knuckle fetches, or maybe an old Henderson or a Vincent.

Go to an AMCA meet and look at what some of the oldtimers are riding. Most are not trailer queens and the owners do not spend time hanging around a dealership.

Better yet go find yourself a pre-20 bike and join the Cannonball Run. They go coast-to-coast on them.

You are absophuckinlutely clueless!
