Default Sitting around/tires

How long is too long for your bike to sit before it starts affecting the tires?

I try to get the bike out once a month but sometimes that stretches a bit if I get too busy...been unusually cold in the mornings (33 is overly nippy here) and I don't really have winter gear for where I live so no riding to work....and Ihave been really booked solid on theweekends (the bike can be impractical for something sorry).

If it gets too close to a month I put on the trikle charger....When is the time I need to get it off the tires?

just move it a bit so tires don't sit on the same spot, or put it up on a bike jack

The dealers have bikes sitting on concrete for months before sold. I would think keeping adequate air pressure is ok. Merry Christmas.

worst thing that can happen from sitting, is weather checking (cracking) of the sidewalls. A tire can have plenty of tread and still be bad if the sidewalls are cracking.

Sometimes referred to as "dry rot", and its very bad for tires. Especially on a motorcycle where a catistrophicsidewall failure can lead tospectacularlyugly aftereffects with long hospital stays.

Thanks guys...It's safely tucked away in the garage. I have experienced dry rot here is CA it can happen quickly. I was just wondering. i notice most folks take thier bikes off the ground in storage.
