Default Holy freaking hick... those snap rings suck.

Well I added some chrome housings on the brake and clutch side of my fiance Dyna Low Rider, but man that snap ring on the clutch side sucked. It took me longer to get that sucker off and even longer to get it back on. I have some snap ring pliers but I had to sharpen one pair just to get them to fit that little sucker wow. Then I lost the darn thing for an half hour until I find it again.

Anyway it's done not so a little more chrome on the fiance's 2007 Dyna Low rider.

Anybody know where I can get a good set off snap ring pliers? Seriously? The ones I have cannot be any good.

They're called snap rings. In that case, external snap rings. Harbor Freight has some decent, small pliers for those.

I've had this set of "Blackhawk/Proto" pliers forever; installs/removes internal/external snap ring/circlips and comes with interchangeable tips of varying thicknesses/angles. These have never let me down, and have handled everything I've ever run across.

Best pliers I found for those snap rings are from Matco. There's a box set of 4 micro snap ring pliers, two for internal snap rings and two for external ones. Straight and angle. I keep a pair in the saddlebag and the other ones in my toolbox at home.

I fought one of those little bastards today when I had to remove the clutch cable for a fairing swap. One of these days I'm going to go out and get one of those mini-snap ring pliers, mine doesn't work on 'em either.

Now you know why those clips got the nickname Jesus clips. Usually what people say as they watch the little bastard fly across the garage.

I have a pair of snap ring pliers from Ace Hardware. Nothing special but they hold the ring open (or closed) real easy.

I have the harbor freight but i "modified" them and made them mo betta.---I ground off some of the metal and made them so they will fit the small holes on the circlips.------i always try and hold my thumb from my other hand over it just in case in flys loose.Probably you do too but just thought i would mention it in case. They still get by me to sometimes but it helps.

Home Depot has some with different tips included.
Comes in handy for the small snap rings on the lever pins and the larger snap ring in the transmission clutch release cover.

Snap Ring pliers were always the ones I tried to do without. When my wife got me a tool chest from Sears for Father's day, I got a gift card from her parents to Sears.

Sears Craftsman Snap Rings were on the short list. Interchangeable tips, and reversible. I don't use them often, but they kick *** when I need them to.
