Default Computer Illiterate with a Power Commnder III !!!

Ok I've been looking all over to figure out how to download a MAP to the PC3 and I've yet to figure it out. I've got the software downloaded, found a MAP that will work and can't seem to be able to open the file. If anyone has any advise at all I'd love to hear it, thanks Justin

I have the PCV not sure how much different from the PCIII. You should have on your desktop an icon for it, double click on it, it should open up, then click on open map. Then you should see all the maps. Click on he map you want, then click on open and the map should appear in the map 1 notes at the bottom. Then click send map. Hope this helps.

Keep in mind the software (or you) has to know where the map is that you want to use. If it's in a directory that isn't the default one for the software, you'll have to point it to where it is. It's been a while since I've played around with mine but, I think in the printed instructions it will tell you where the default location is and where you should put your downloaded files.

Just looked at mine again. When you hit the "Open Map File" tab, a window will pop up. In that window, near the top, you can select what directory to "Look in". Open the directory that you d/loaded your map(s) and you should see the one you want.

I neglected to mention that, mine automatically comes up "maps" file with out having to search for it.
Let us know if you're successful.

Question:
couple of years ago I bought a PC that was supposedly already programed from Zippers for the headers, pipes, cams I had installed.

Is this true or did the dealer just keep my software and cables????

I've since sold the bike and my bud can't get the stuff from the dealer either.
OH, bike was a 2010 RG 96" jumped to 103"

Dealers do that **** all of the time with SERTS and PCs. Then the guy who paid realizes he bought the stuff and the dealer can't remember what happened to it. My old dealer had a shelf in his service department with probably 50 SERT boxes stacked on it. They Dyno tuned my bike and I came back a week later and asked for a copy of the map...." We don't keep those" was the BS reply I got.

Which is my most people call them "stealers"

If you buy the SE tuner from the dealer and they do the install and map and they tell you that the cable or sofware is included in the charge, make damn sure you get the cable/software from them. They sell the cable and sofware seperately of the tuner so chances are they are charging you for something they already have laying around.

Sorry this does nothing to answer the question about the PC III.

There are a lot of tutorials on the Dynojet website that will show you how to load a map. Scroll down to the bottom of the page on the following link:
http://www.powercommander.com/powerc...dType=PCIIIUSB

Try looking there. If no joy repost & I'll try to talk you through it.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I found a MAP for an 03 screamin eagle "road glide" which doesn't exist, but it was for a Pro Pipe and aftermarket Screamin Eagle air cleaner. The bike is a 2003 Screamin Eagle Road King, but I assume that it will work cosidering that the bike has a Pro Pipe and an aftermarket Screamin eagle air cleaner. As for the ignition tables... I didn't do anything with it, I have no clue what to do for that table.
