191 from Clifton to Alpine is Tail of the Dragon, on steroids, doubled!

I'm adding this route to my Wild Hogs pilgrimage to Madrid, NM this summer.

Going North from Clifton first 11 miles are 10 MPH with no guard rails. Make sure you stop at the overlook of the open pit copper mine.

A1A is nice
A1A is nice in Florida. It gets broken up a bit in places, but it's right next to the ocean most of the way. There are lots of bars / restaurants along the way. In Mayport, FL you cross it on a ferry, which is pretty neat. It's pretty close to 95 and US1, so if you get sick of a stretch, you can hop on 95 for a while.

A plug for Virginia
Several have mentioned the Blue Ridge Parkway, part of which is in Virginia. But just north of the BRP, and connecting to it, is Skyline Drive. Nice curves (fun but not technical), great views in both directions, nice overlooks and hikes to cliffs or waterfalls if you are so inclined.
