My 08FLHX (TBW) kinda stuck for a while. My indy show me a real simple fix: just loosen the switch housing torx screws and slide the housing towards the grip.
I did rotate the housing some after I adjusted the handle bar, more than likely that's what cause it to stick some.

Ease up on the ball busting guys, sorry for the limited info. and thanks for all the suggestions. My bike is a '01 road king fuel injected. First street bike and first time being part of a forum of this magnitude. You know how it is...gotta crawl before you walk. Thanks again for your help.

As I posted earlier, I listened to a tech about corrosion in the cables and lubed and lubed and finally about two hours ago I decided to loosen my cables all the way and start over with a new adjustment to both throttle and idle cables. So far so good. It seems like the problem is solved. Hope it lasts.
TCC2, try readjusting your cables.

I would remove the top throttle cover screws and move the top housing to access the cables.Spray some throttle lube onto the cables where the cable goes into the cable housing.Be sure to place a rag underneath!Let the lube soak in and spray again.
Try twisting the throttle to help the lube penatrate. The lube should leak out at the bottom of the cables by the throttle body.
If this works then your good to go.

Another, yet simple thing to check, is the elbow fitting on the throttle. Mine was pushed around and the throttle stuck open. I just flipped it back to where it should be and everything was OK.
And good suggestions from everyone else.

It could be the handgrip binding on the mount/handlebar or the cable binding. Slowly open the throttle with the engine off and try to "feel" if the handgrip is binding..
