First thing i was taught when i graduated from dirt bikes to road toads as teenager, Feet up + eyes up = stay up....
I dont think thats taught anymore, at least not around here. I see foot draggers all the time on all sorts of bikes. Not only does it look a little goofy, but you can do yourself an injury.

If you have an "unsafe gear down" first you don't launch. If you decide to launch don't cycle the gear up cause then you could a problem of the gear not coming down, then you have bigger problems. Oops, sorry guys just had a mild flashback there.
