Is he insured on your bike?

No, didn't think so.

There's your cop out and a logical one as well. It's not just losing your bike, if he's in an at fault accident who's paying medical bills for everyone involved?

Not a chance. There's a reason why EagleRider rents bikes. For the record, I don't loan out my cars either.

Its just a machine, they made lots of Harleys. My bikes are insured and it does not matter if they are listed on your policy as long as they have your permission to ride it and are licensed. I would just go for a ride with them and swap up for a spell. If he can't afford one right away you won't be doing him any favors though. He will hate his bike after riding yours.

Years ago I let a friend borrow my Yamaha Virago for a couple days. When he brought it back it was leaking oil. When I asked he said he checked the oil and it was low so he put in a QUART. That was the last time anyone borrowed one of my bikes.

I've traded bikes with guys, and one friend I would let him ride my bike for his car. Haven't done it in years though.

I keep it in the family or friends I know who already own one.. I have seen bad things happen when someone says they can handle a heavy bike and cannot..
