My trail bike/dirt bike isn't actually mine, I borrow it--I'm insured on his policy & pay gas plus upkeep whenever I brake it, mostly its mine though

& yeah I have loaned out my cycle but not to just any tard--

Also I can't loan out my buds bike

Default tuff question

Tuff question. I'm in this situation right now with really good friend. Recently inherited my dad's bike(only bike I will NEVER sell), and my bud is begging me to let him ride it. He's got no money to fix and this bike is special. I told him OK if you haven't been drinking, or smoking...... a ride around the block. He laughed and said "yeah sure....i wanna open it up a little." I am now avoiding him anytime I'm riding and he's seen the bike once.(he was drinking and smoking) He doesn't have a license, and he's wrecked two of his own bikes already. After writing all this, I think I'm gonna tell him flat out NO! and if he doesn't want to listen he can eff off. Known him 40 years...he can't hate me forever. Anyone else ever asks to ride my bike...gets a BIG Hell No!

No I do not loan my bike out and never will. I have let one old riding buddy ride it around a parking lot once, but that's it. I would tell him to just rent one and see how he likes it.

I'd almost rather loan out my ol lady rather than my bike..that being said I've done both and both times they came back in perfectly good shape with no noticeable wear and tear

AIN'T NO WAY that I would loan out that bike! I have, and will still let certain other riders ride my bikes, but if I had one that my dad left me, that was not for sale, ever, HELL NO!

I've let friends ( who rode with me ) ride my bike on more then one occasion but I know them well. They are experienced riders I trust. But a neighbor that just wants to take it out for a spin.. NO WAY..
First is the insurance issue. So they drop it, even if they pay the deductible your could get dropped or your rates jump up. They you lose a friend over " that scratch is hardly noticeable " conversation.
Best to just say NO..
