V&H doesn't have the customer service they used to a couple years ago, good luck with them giving a ****. They said I was SOL on some heat shields I had that were internally rusting. They tried selling me new shields for the same price you were quoted. Hope it works out but you can always wrap them.

 

If it's the Pro Pipe "Hi Output" system, the heat shields are optional.

 

they may sell the heatshields separate, but if you ask my buddy with a 2-1 hi-po system, he will tell you that they are absolutely necessary due to the heat.
