Lots of jurisdictions consider those yellow diagonals as handicapped spaces also. Imagine manuevering your wheel chair around a bunch of bikes.

I feel your pain, but you should have parked in a stall marked for either motorcycles or cars. Maybe the officer's remarks towards you could have been stated better, maybe your reaction could have been more pleasant. Regardless, you parked your bike there and really have no one to blame for your actions but you. In the grand scheme of things it is not a big deal, but thoses areas are for people to cross the lot to enter the store not for parking vehicles.

Regarding the gal who was not handicapped, that i s too bad, but the officer was dealing with you.

My bike is pretty expensive I do not want to see anything happen to it, so i park it legaly away from ares where it won't be bothered - hopefully.

I think not. I'm an idiot for parking my bike in a 30 x 6 foot space, the same type of space bikes have been parking in for years? If I parked in the wrong space and was in violation the kid could have pointed that out, gave me a ticket and I would not have been offendeed. It wasnt about me, it was his whole attitude about bikers. (read the post) As far as the old lady, if she was handi caped it was mentaly.. She made it across that lot like a school kid.. I didnt realize I was talking like a bad *** but I did feel like bitch slapping the freakin punk and there was no tail between my legs. I'm too damn old to be intemidated by some punk with a gun over such a trivial matter. It sounds like you live with a tail between your legs and wouldnt think about standing up for yourself.. So who's acting like a little girl? I simply shared my story and how I felt.

What are you talking about...have to earn your respect? You were totally in the wrong...he called you on it...and he has the authority to do it. Around here, it's a $300 fine! No questions asked. If you ask me, you should have been a lot more appreciative that he didn't slap you with a fine. Turning attention to that lady that pulled in does not change the wrong YOU did. He should have slapped a ticket on her window...especially if he was standing right there. Both you and she were in the wrong and deserve to be ticketed. Just running in and out is no excuse for parking in a handicapped spot! Why he didn't ticket both of you...baffles me, but that is his prerogative.

Earn respect! Pffffttt! I may be wrong, but I have a feeling your mother taught you better than that! Respect for authority figures is not earned respect! A policeman, a boss, whatever (even if they are younger and smaller than you...doesn't change the fact that they have authority over you). Do you really believe only the guys that are big and burly and older than you should be able to tell you what to do? Face it ... They hold the cards...you don't.

The local mall has motorcycle parking, a cager parked there and would not move. I told the mall security about it. As the tow truck was hooking up the driver came back. Turns out he was an off-duty cop, from another town. He tried to use his badge, but still had to pay the hook-up fee. He gave me the bird when he left, I smiled and waved.

 

Like I said.. If I was in violation he should have pointed it out, chewed my ***, gven me a ticket, what ever. I would have been on my way and shareing with you all to watch out for parking in those areas... No big deal... It was the whole attitude thing.. And again it wasnt about me it was about all bikers. If I did wrong.. Give me the ticket and I learn a lesson. I meant no disrespect parking there.
I'm going to ride my bike now and if I stop, I will park in a designated area!
