trim removal

RE: trim removal
Carefully work your strongest finger nail under the outer edge someplace, just by a small amount to enable you to grab the edge and pull the trim ring off once you have raised enough of the ring to grab IT with small pliers. The trick is to start at the outer edge. The trim ring will come off in one piece but the glue is quite strong. Be slow and gentle as you pull. Then used Goo Gone or alcohol to remove rest of glue on cover. Cover under trim ring is all chromed.
This is the way I did my cover and all went well.

expect some grunting, that glue is strong and doesnt give up very easy. I ended up using the wifes hair dryer to warm the trim ring up,seemed to help the glue let go,i used WD-40 to remove the remaining glue.

RE: trim removal
Same as the rest but mine had a slight bend in it when I finished. That didn't bother me much because it was going in the trash can anyway. If you plan on keeping it, be gentle with it.
