Ok,got the Daytona in yesterday.It's very lightweight & low profile.I'm pleased with it.I put a couple of lower snaps on it & attached a 5 snap shield on it.
I used to think that too. Till I spent a day wearing an ARAI....
It may not provide more protection than a cheaper helmet, but quality, fit and quietness are well worth the extra $$$.
not to mention that no other helmet fits my bawling ball shaped noggin like an ARAI ...
I tried an ARAI and it gave me a headache in an hour. The HJC line seems to fit me best.

most likely due to wrong model.
Cheaper brands tend to make "one shape fits most" helmets.
Better manufacturers like ARAI, Shoei and few others build helmets for specific shape heads.
My head is bowling ball round and of course helmet designed for oval shape head would not fit right and have all kinds of pressure points in wrong spots.
HJC makes a fine helmet and I've raced in them, but they just didn't fit me as well.
