Whats it like living and riding in Cali, do you get hassled for pipes , lids etc ... LEO's ticket happy?

 

I get to ride 365 days a year. I haven't had a ticket in decades.

 

It might depend on where you are in Calif., but (knock on wood), we don't get hassled. We don't try to attract LEO attention either. So, helmets are on and we take it easy on the throttle thru town, etc.....

 

In the Sacramento area, there's riding mostly year round depending on your mojo about riding. Leo's tend to not bother bikers or Vets too much, unless you're a 1%er, a crotch-rocketeer, or just plain obnoxiously stupid.

 

Never! Just dont be an ***! You know those throttle blipers.

 

I haven't been hassled ever but I don't act like an *** either. Cops are fairly cool, at least I haven't found that jerk cop while riding my bike.

 

Been riding here for more than forty years. Only tickets have been in a car. Most of the LEOs on bikes will give you a wave. I've got a friend that rides with a skid lid that is obviously not legal, semi-loud pipes and has never been pulled over, except in AZ. My bikes have always been loud and I've never been bothered. Even going through a checkpoint just showed my license and they said have a nice night.

 

Never had any problems. Even in my sportbike days as long as we were cool until we got to the mountain we would run, they left us alone.

 

I have loud pipes, no hassles.

Any "lid" will do due to legal technicalities, I understand. There is a helmet law, but it doesn't have to be DOT.

No more tickets than anywhere else I've been, but watch out for camera tickets in the cities.

Haven't ever been hassled in CA...I've got LOUD pipes.
