Which Torque Wrench
#14
Well I was lucky. My son is a union bus mechanic and someone comes to his shop once a year to calibrate the tools. He took mine in.
2 of my wrenches are over 10 years old.I dont know if the calibrater made adjustments to them.
As far as calibration services, you would have to find a lab that does this.
Found this pricing on the net.

I have a Matco that is probably one of the best that I've owned. As said earlier Snapon is just way overpriced. This is the one I own http://www.matcotools.com/catalog/pr...50-FT-LB-TORQ/

Got this torque wrench about 2 1/2 yrs ago. Its been a great torque wrench. I would never, never own a clicker torque wrench again.
The dude I work with has two Snap On Torque wrench's and it was tested against them.
Right on the money. Built a HD motor 2 yrs ago with it.
Harbor Freight does not have a torque wrench to compare with it.
Only thing it will not do is do the Compensator sprocket. You need a much longer torque wrench for that.

As a professional wrench I got tired of taking broken Craftsman stuff back to get it replaced. Also their gurantee doesn't apply to torque wrenches. Had one break the splines out the first time I used it. Sorry no warranty. Got a ton of money in my Snap-on stuff but it works when I need it. Had 1 broken socket in 30yrs of daily use and I know I was abusing it when it broke. Digital will replace in/lb and ft/lb as it will read both scales.

Anyone who complains that Snap-On is too expensive doesn't know how to shop. And if you're buying cheap Chinese crap from Harbor Freight, don't complain that we don't have enough jobs to go around.

My 1/2"-drive Craftsman torque wrench was bought new, on sale. My 3/8"-drive Snap-On was bought used/like-new-in-case, on c/l. And my $400 1/4"-drive Snap-On Torqometer (for gunsmithing) was bought used for $50 on eBay.
