Default CV Barebacks and Leatherworks Saddlebags - help!?

I am looking at getting a set of Leatherworks saddlebags, and I think I want to use the Barebacks quick release system. I looked at Easy Brackets, but I don't like how they stick out so far. I want to put them on my '09 Fat bob.

Anyone using Barebacks with Leatherworks bags? My big question is, with these bags and Barebacks, what keeps the bags from swinging/leaning on the bike when loaded since there are no saddle bag supports?

Also, do you just drill holes in the bags, and run the Barebacks straight thru with washers? Curious how to mount the bags themselvs with the Barebacks hardware.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have barbacks with docking backrest hardware (so they stick way out) with leather Harley Softail Custom bags, but they have a plastic back and steel supports. If I was doing them with leather bags, I'd get some saddlebag support brackets and attach the supports to the bags, then attach the bnarebacks to the supports.

I used Barebacks on a Softail Custom I used to ride. They were pretty sturdy and didn't
swing or lean on the bike. I used HD saddlebags and did not have to drill any holes. The only thing I didn't like was how far the bags stuck out. I eventually removed the Barebacks and used bolts.

Thanks guys... That's what I was wondering about. It looks like the Harley bags work well, but softer bags would need supports. I know they'll stick out ( I have the quick release sissy bar too) but I think the barebacks stick out less than the easy brackets. I was looking at that system as well.

My avatar photo shows our 3100 seies on a low rider, but will fit just as well on your Fat Bob. The bags hug really close, are detachable and have locking lids. If you do a search for leatherpros.com in this forum, you will find lots of threads about our bags.

Keep ridin'
