Thirty five years from now they'll be bikers talking about how bikes used to run on gasoline. The "old school bikers" will still be arguing with the "newbies" about which bikes are better and what a real biker is. Only difference will be that punches thrown will be felt and eyes will literally be blackened over the internet....or whatever replaces it (how cool would that be! lol). Nothing will change, because people don't change. They'll still be some of us on some forum arguing about the same things. I won't. I'll be 84 years old and too busy trying to keep up with my new, and very hot, 30 year old wife.

The difference: 40 years ago you would have had to say that to his face without the safety net. People didn't hide behind self imposed witty user names.

Speaking for myself the biggest difference is less hair more money and rear suspension.

I love the way modern bikes run start and stop everytime, sometimes I miss tearing apart Triumphs, Sporties and Shovels in a cold garage and trying to band-aide them back together but most of the time I appreciate having a trouble free bike. I wouldn't trade the past for anything nor do I wish to re-live it, I'm just glad I've been lucky enough to be on two wheels most of my life and leave it at that.

No more "Harley leg" after kickin' the '72 shovel after that fatal wet fart sound of fouling the plugs. Another ten minutes of kickin' with some ******* standin' there watchin', sayin' "your nuttin witout a button". My new Heritage doesn't even "mark its spot", now just my German Shepherd does. My Shovel was $2,200 OTD. This beast was over $20K.

Just wanted to add this photo of my shovel. Bought it cash with my student loan money after Viet Nam.
