Now that my daughter has finally developed an interest in motorcycles, I thought she might like to go to Sturgis with me, but with all the negatives I've read about it on this forum, I'm thinking cruising the other direction on scenic Wisconsin roads might be more enjoyable.Haven't been to Sturgis myself; usually avoid crowds.

Keep this to the 70's...
I'll add one thing as a 13 y.o. My old man gave me a box of PlayBoys from Hugh's first issue till 1972. My Dad made me the hit of school once I showed them off!
Wish (do to begging) I never sold those mags . Now too this day I wish I never sold them.
Ohhh well I did make good money back then.

Yep, I went to an event and there was more clubs representing than I have ever seen- it's relatively a new phenomenon, but all are legit.
I guess it's good to have so many- it keeps the cops busy and just like the boom of motorcycle riders in the 80's, the more patches running around people don't freak out when they see them.
Don't miss these rallies-

I know many other club members don't agree, but I share your opinion. The more patches out there the less the cops will jack with us.

Biggest difference between 70s bikers and today's riders. That's easy. In the 70s if you seen someone on a Harley they could work on it. Necessity. Today its hit and miss. Many, just like myself, like the convenience of getting on, hit start, ride. I'm 52.
