Did that to my youngest brother his first time out here , took him to San Fran early on a Sat. night and sent him into a bar on Polk Street to get a beer ordered while I chained up the bikes
Was 2 days before he quit calling me names for that
Like I said earlier it isn't everybody but I seem to draw the ******** like flies for some reason they come straight at me .

You're right of course, but those few sure managed to get in our faces a lot. Even from people you wouldn't expect; had an American Airlines FA refuse to give me anything to drink (any liquid) on a three hour flight. Almost 40 years later, still avoid that airline, I just can't forget. Southerners are mostly ok people, but back in the 60's and early 70's, a Yankee bike rider had best be cautious; there were a few that were downright dangerous. I wouldn't worry about it today, probably, but several states in the southeast still have a slightly different culture than the rest of the country (ok, so does New York ), but I'm not saying that's bad.

What happened to deadfred. This thread has been stripped of his wisdom. It must have been his 13th post because he had 12 for a long time. nNw he's gone...
Did he say a bad word or something?

Been riding since 1976 and yes, until the early 2000's is was "Japan"ize bikes. Looking back in the 70's and 80's there was no "classes" of riders. EVERYBODY was riders and I don't remember this group distinction. Nowadays it is Honda vs Harley vs Goldwing vs Hyibusa and "everybody you talk to is riding the only true motorcycle". Believe it or not, the VTX riders are the worst I have seen.
Anyway, the letters on the tank are not that important--- it is still the same wind in your face.
