Honestly, how many people here actually road motorcycles in the 70s. I am in my mid 40s and back in the 70s I was pedalling my *** around on a Banana seat bike with ape hanger type bars. In the late 70s I got my first bike which was a 74 or 4 Yamaha 100 enduro. Good times back then, Broke a few bones and ate some gravel, dirt and grass. Did not get my first street bike to the late 80s which was an 81 Honda 650 custom with a windjammer on it. Road the life out of it. I upgraded to an 82 Honda 650 custom and took the jammer off the 81 and put it on the 82. Also repainted it and had the seat redone. Lots of good times on that one also.

LOL bunch of grampas here. JK. We didn't have money for small dirtbikes back when I was a kid. Born in 1967. I never did the chopper deal with my pedal bikes. I was more into jumping over **** with them then anything. I always wanted a motorcycle back then but the Step pop was not for it. I guess the first motorized 2 wheeler we had was a minibike that we got from my Gramps. The first motorcycle to grace our yard was my stepfathers new 80s something 400 special that he sold a year later to upgrade to a 650 special. That was about the time we got the little Yamaha 100. He had some old coot pull out infront of him and he layed down the 650. He got it fixed and it sat parked int he garage till the mid 90s.

Got my first mini bike at age 10 in '72. Upgraded to a slightly used '73 XR75 when I was 13. Had an Elsinore 125 in '75.
Bought my first street bike in '83 - a NOS '82 Honda 450 Nighthawk ($1182 out the door). Rode that while in college. I only remember one or two other friends that had motorcycles. It was mainly for transportation, not pleasure riding.
Had a ton of different street bikes since then. Standards, Vintage, Ninjas, etc. Got my first Harley in '02, a '00 Heritage Softail. Had it less then a year and sold it and bought my '02 Road King which I'll probably have forever.
