PVC pipe cleaner/primer? I've not used it on paint so test it first.

Thats Methyl Ethyl Keytone or just MEK and it works great, but be sure to check on paint first. I used brake cleaner on mine to remove the goo from the reflector removal and wiped it off quick. No harm no foul.

I used chrome polish on the forks and wax on the swing arm when I removed my reflectors.
That and a little elbow grease.

I'm in the automotive/industrial refinishing trade and can verify that wax and grease remover will be your best bet. You can get it anywhere that sells automotive type stuff like Autozone or Napa if cost is an issue. It softens the glue from decals or stripes and can be wiped off afterwards. You don't need a whole lot of elbow grease using it. It won't harm your paint at all. MEK is pretty harsh if you're worried about the finish of your bike when you're done. Lacquer thinner is not quite as strong as MEK but will probably dull your paint if left on it for too long.
