Exclamation H2O proof cover vs. cycle shell

i live in an apartment and need to get a good cover, the one i bought that was supposed to be the best cycle gear had, has ruined my leather tour pak! it let water in and it got moldy. been trying to clean it and treat it, nothing perfect yet. so do i get a Dowco water proof cover or go for the cycle shell? i ride a lot, so i dont want to rent a storage facility, or keep it across town at a friends. i like to keep my own eyes on it, and have it right there when i want to ride or work on it. Weather in East TN can change in a min and turn into a great day to ride at anytime. gotta buy something soon! i dont wnat my bike to get any worse! Thanx!

I've owned two Dowco covers and one cycleshell. The cycleshell is far better and faster & easier to use. Get one, you won't regret it!

really? i see the benefits, but is it really worth the $500 vs. $100 or so for Dowco or HD heady duty?

I purchased the Dowco for my Night Train and it withstood all the heavy rain we got this summer and fall.

Rain was pooled up in some of the creases that form when the cover is on but the bike never got wet at all. It was well worth the money. After every rain, when we'd get a stretch of nice weather, I'd take it off and hang it on the line in the breeze to make sure it dried completely.

Would not use any other for my bikes. Excellant all round coverage for your bike, sure its expensive but what value do you put on your bike? I live in a high wind area out in the country... the covers have kept all manner of air born crap from hitting my bikes. There are other options out tho..

One of these days I will get out and make room in one of my sheds for the bike or just build a man cave lol
