+1 on the ROK straps.....liked em so much I bought extra ones (different lengths)
Also bought some rolls of velcro (1 hook and 1 loop), had the wife make me some custom lengths on the sewing machine. I think the rolls were 3 inches wide and 15ft long.

I traveled many miles with a bag on the trunk luggage rack with 4 bungee cords crossed. I thought that would do it until I lost the bag somewhere on I-40 in Oklahoma. Learned that the small cargo net is the only sure way.
Hope that whoever found it could use all the goodies.

I use ROK Straps adjustable tie downs. They're more effective than bungee cords, which can scratch paint if you're not careful.
