What kind of tires for my....
fatboy? I am about to order and was talking to a friend of mine yesterday. He said that the dunlops that i have last forever. It got me to thinking before I order the Metalers that I had decided on, should I get the dunlops? I am referring to the d402's as opposed to the mez 880's. What is the life difference on these two kinds of tires? Anyone help me out here? I do a fair amount of riding, and like sticky tires, but if the life is not long, maybe I should stick with the dunlops as money is an issue as of late...

As far as I'm concerned the MoCo knows better than me. I would go with the Dunlops. They've worked fine with me. I've had no trouble dragging my pipes and I won't need any more traction than that.

I think if your just cruising on down the road all day then the Dunlop’s are a decent tire.
But if you like to push the performance envelope then what any tire might cost, or how long it lasts is irrelevant. You want a tire that STICKS, the bottom line is that its your butt and bike that come first.
And not necessarily in that order. J/K

I have run Avons, Metz and Dunlops. Dunlops give better tire mileage and have a better pattern for wet surface. I currently have the new Elite III's and really like the tire.

My Dunlops were pretty well shot at 12,000 miles. I put on Avon Venoms and there is a big diference in the tires! The Avons grip the road much better than the stock Dunlops. I've heard that the Metz are possibly even a little better than the Avons at gripping the road and just a little worse in the wear department. I've never used the Metz's so no first hand knowledge on them. So far, I have about 5,000 miles on the Avons and they show no signs of wear and handle great.

Anubiss I have the dunlops on my bike and I only get about 9,000 out of the rears and 18,000 out of the front one.I have heard the Met's get about the same.I want a stickery tire on the bike also so I was going for the Mets myself I'm due for new sneakers.

I get 11-12k out of my Dunlops on my RKC. The original front lasted 39k. The second one now has 25k and still looks good.
My work bike has Dunlops. Both bikes do fine in the rain. I can grind the floor boards with the best of them riding on Dunlops.
