Default Voltage regulator

I have a 2011 Electra glide limited about 1 1/2 years old with 9800 miles and have had two voltage regulators go out. The dealer doesn't seem to have a clue what is causing the problem. Any suggestions?

check the stator , visual , and use a "megger" to check windings..
battery condition and connections can cause regulator problems.

Got a buddy fighting regulators on his Glide. He is on his third regulator in a couple of years. I suspect a short but no one has found it yet and it has been in the shop at one of the best mechanics I know.

ground issue? check for voltage drop at all grounds. If I were the dealer working on this, I might try a new battery as well

Do the newer ones have a separate ground wire that is connected to the frame like the older regulators? If so, you may have to scrape some paint to get to bare metal for a better ground. Also have the connections been checked for corrosion or proper connections. The regulator also monitors the battery voltage, if the battery is crapping out it could take the regulator with it. The dealer or it's techs should be able to find the problem.
