It's January And I'm Riding

Also excepting the more dramatic roads (Big Sur, Yosemite, Marin & north, Bishop area) I like the roads better here. Easy to find nice twisty roads with cool scenery and very little traffic. In Socal lots of good roads with way too much traffic.

New Years Day was the last day I could get the bike up onto the paved road. Did a nice 30+ warm up ride that day, but since then we have been iced in.
42d here today, but with the rain on top of the remaining ice the long haul up to the pavement would have been too risky.

I've been riding all year. The winter has been very mild in the UK, although I'm going to have to dress up like a Power Ranger in my rainsuit to ride home.

I grew up in the Chicago area til I was 20, so I know what lousy weather is (can you say "-80*F with the wind chill????). Been living in San Diego since then and at 48 I'm still appreciative of the amazing weather we have here in So Cal.
I ride year around and have not forgotten to be thankful for being able to do so. CA sucks in some ways, but San Diego has the best weather on earth (and no mosquitos either!).
