So if you had the choice to serve and miss it, you would rather hit it head on
nope..but there is no way I have found to figure out ahead of time which way they might bolt. I have even had them run to the side just to run back out across again...strange animals. my theory is ( and as far as I know its just a theory lol ) , be straight up, on the brakes....if I hit it , let off the brakes and hope I can stay on the bike and hopefully roll over it if it's a deer and goes down in front of me . I've hit possums and coons on a bike, nothing but a speed bump so I don't even think about swerving.
on a side note in a cage ( at least with state farm) if you swerve, miss the deer and wreck , its a collision claim , if you hit the deer , its just a comp claim
any crash where you can pick up the bike and ride home is a good one..
Don't take it the wrong way, but you know what I'm saying.
Glad your ok, will you have to make an ins claim?
We're you wearing a helmet? If so, was it FF, 3/4 or beanie? Kevlar pants? Kevlar Jacket? Are you an ATGATT guy?
It was pretty cool out, so I had on a jacket. Half helmet. I think what really saved me was how much I had slowed down for the turn. It is pretty much a 90 degree turn.
