Default Anyone know a good lawyer????

So back in March my father was in a motorcycle accident, a woman came into his lane and hit him, luckily he was ok with the exception of his hand. However his finger is dislocated, the doctors have done surgery but it can never be repaired, he is unable to close his hand and is in constant pain. Again, this can never be repaired according to the doctors and he will be in pain the rest of his life. He finally hears from Progressive today 10 months later with the settlment offer. 21k and he is to pay his own doctors bills. If that wasn't slap in the face enough, the supervisor he was speaking with in Nashville says that it is just a finger and just his left hand. My father is now unable to ride, play catch with his grandsons, or work without being in extreme pain. I realize that he is fortunate to be alive and it could have been much worse so please don't think I am in anyway underminding that in anyway, but this is my father whom I adore so naturally for him to be insulted in this manor has made me quit livid. Does anyone know of any good lawyers in the East TN area by chance? Or know of something I can do? Everyone says that this is natural with insurance agencies, but it shouldn't be, it will however continue to be unless people finally start fighting back and letting them know that they can not continue to treat people this way.

I gotta ask about the medical details here , dislocated finger that will never heal and the hand won't close making it about useless right and all the pain ? . I'm having some problem with that I've broken , dislocated and split the knuckle socket a few fingers over the years and had my right index all but ripped completely off . Hurt like a bitch took time & some effort on my part but everything is there and still working fine and the pain did fad in not that long a time . Why can't it be repaired , big hole there man and any ambulance chaser you get is going to wanna know the same thing ?????????? I'm not belittling his situation but something doesn't sound right to somebody who has had multiple hand injuries before.

I'd look for an attorney that specializes in motorcycle accidents. I had a similar crash and while I had some personal injury (back to about 95% a year and a half after the accident) and secured an attorney to deal with the insurance compay. While they'll take 33% of whatever the insurance company pays your father, it was well worth it for me.

Maybe what you're Dad needs is a good lawyer, and a better Doctor. Did he get a second opinion from a big University based teaching hospital?

If you know any surgical nurses they know who the best Doctors are. Good Luck.

was the woman that hit him ticketed? did the police ever say who they thought was at fault? is progressive his or her insurance company?
find a lawyer who will work on contingency...split 50/50 on whatever he can get above the original 21k offer plus all medical bills.
back to your original question--to find a good lawyer you need to find a cemetery. lawyers are scumbag P.O.S.. jmo

I've spoken to one of the board sponsors here.

Russ Brown

They ended up not taking my case because it was too small. However, the attorney that I talked with to a considerable amount of time answwering a bunch of questions for me. At no charge.

Hopefully, I won't need them again. But they were the only ones who took the time to explain the issues.

That speaks volumes.

Fu*kin' scumbags claim to be on the side of the little guy when ALL they really care about is filling their wallets.
