I'm confused... I thought Harley-Davidson of St. Augustine was on State Road 16? Are you talking about a t-shirt shop downtown?

Yes. Email from adamec specifically mentions downtown store with no mention of SR16 location. HD of St Augustine also owns the novelty shop.

Okay, good. it's only the t-shirt outlet that's affected, not the dealership.

Was in there this morning and they were ha ving their final Hog Chapter meeting. Heard the owner speak to the chapter and said motorcycle sales were down 70% in Florida compared to when they bought the franchise 4.5yrs ago. That is a very significant drop in sales

Default No they were shut down !!

Dont believe what the st.augustine dealer is feeding you ! They got shut down due to not bothering to pay there loans ! they sold 17 brand new bikes last month not to mention apparel sales and used bikes ! They took out more loans than they could handle and now they are paying the price along with there employees who they are screwing as well ! Adamec is not taking over the dealership just the dowtown store T-Shirt shop ! In one year Harley will then let someone reopen a dealership here and i think we will all be happy with there choice and it wont be adamec or rossmeyer !But for now screw adamec who will never step foot in st. augustine other than there t-shirt shop and Rossmeyer does not own a thing in st.augustine either by the way and never will they have no interest ! As to being sad to see the dealership close yes it sucks for there employees and for the family who opened it in 1946 the Hollingsworth's to see someone run it into the ground in less than 5 years !! So while we all are sad to see it go it must be done because some people would rather act rich than do the right thing ! but as to being sad to see the present owners go no way jack I hated seeing the original owners go and im glad to see the new owners hit the freakin road ! If i can add anything else to my rant as a newbie on this forum i will add this i have used the Hollingsworth family for all my Harley needs for over 20 years and my father used them for over 50 and that is who i will continue to spend my money in st.augustine with and i can only hope they return to the dealership and reopen it for us all who are true riders and people who just want an honest dealer like them back not adamec or rossmeyer I personally would just like Hollingsworth back period and good ridence to the present owners ! Good luck to the employees !! and thanks for hearing me out and no i wont argue with anyone on my info i know exactlly what im talkin believe it or not lol !! Oh and BTW Hollingsworth's has a shop out south of walmart on us 1 on the right and he can fix any harley I trust him more than any mechanic in florida hands down and he can and will get any and all parts anyone i know has ever asked him to without being told it'll be a month like the dealer did me everytime !!!

How do you know all of that? The average employee has no idea what is going on. The only way you know what is going on is if you have been a part of it other than being an employee...So, are you saying you haven't been paying some bills for your employer?

Disgruntled employee......
Yep. This is all in the news with MOCO releasing news releases. MOCO is saying who gets what.

Default Not a ex employee nor an owner just someone who knows !

I know these facts to be true from the family who owned it and sold it to them and from certain sources inside Harley itself ! If you dont want to believe it coll i am just offering the facts of the matter ! And what i have learned from Harley sources and from very good firends inside the Hollingsworth family who where also contacted by friends inside Harley and let in on the info before the employees of the douche bag EX owners Clark and Allen had even told his employees ! As to Ademec they now have rights to the t-shirts for the area for one year then Harley will reevaluate the dealer situation and decide who if anyone will then have the opportunity to open another dealership in st.augustine ! I mean its not hard to figure out they were stripped of the dealership come on a successful dealership for 66 years just goes belly up all of a sudden hmm ? Sold loads of bikes loads of motor clothes adn sccessories so why would they go out of business if not taking the money and running if any of you out there think for one minute the owners ever did caer about one of there customers then you got fooled ! those guys wouldnt even shake a real bikers hand much less care if you died in front of there store !! So think what you will but think again if you think it was a harley down sizing that shut them down ! You dont pay your bills you treat people who worked there for years to the point a year before they "closed" not one employee who had been there with the Hollingsworths was still there and had all quit just find any of those guys and ask ! we were all refered to as sheople and dirt bags and laughed at as they never gave one person a discount no matter how much you spent nor how much you tried to be nice to the yuppie scum bags ! So if you think i have a chip or an axe to grind yes i do these guys took a great corner stone of our community and turned it to nothing but a pile of crap and now there takin the money and running !!

Another one bites the dust. Treat people good and stay in business. Now can we get rid of obama too.
