For those who have had problems with latch pins snapping (the pin that runs across the bracket behind the bag), make sure the bag is sitting firmly onto the bag mount bar that runs lengthwise under the bag.
If it's not sitting firmly when you lock the Dzus fastener, the latch pin is taking the weight of the bag plus vibration. it is my belief that the pin can eventually work harden due to vibration and snap -- leaving you 'bagless'.
That pin mount is adjustable so the bag can be set to ride firm on the bar under the bag.

Yep, happened to me the day after I had them off for cleaning. Luckily it didn't come all the way off, but was hanging by a thread. I noticed it when we stopped for lunch.
I think I may put a safety zip-tie set up on them that can just be snipped off when you want to remove them.

One of the reasons I prefer a RKC to a standard--leather bags are easily ordered or found at swap meets & replaced--you don't hafta wait for paint, which may or may not match. Plus a leather bag that has slid along the ground doesn't look as bad as a painted bag that has taken the same trip.
