Not sure what you mean by nostalgic, my se just measured about 6 3/4". Guess I need to learn how to read a tape measure, it is 7".

Yep. Mine ('97 Evo on a Mikuni) is 7 inches. Just ordered another to drill out sides for more air flow. Will see if it makes any difference....

Clicked on shu's link, omg $185 for a knuckle air cleaner, almost glad I don't own one.
Seems like it would, my only complaint is the it did interfere with the rear brake. Went with footpeg extentions from jp and all is good. My knee kept hitting the ac.
