Need to keep some Back Up Cash in the Bank ...
Credit Union is 3 3/4 % annual - no fees and the interest is tax deductible (secured to my home)

Cash for both of mine.
Each time I got one, a decent truck or car cost the same as the bike.
I had one guy say I could have gotten a truck. I told him if I wanted a truck, I would have gotten one.
The first HDs cost slightly more than the Model-T at the time. So they are still in the same range cost wise.

Seven HD's in the garage. Paid cash for all. Except the last two a 12 Night Rod Special and 12 Road Glide Custom which I traded a Viper for.

never bought new, always paid cash.. i tried to buy a new bike twice. had all but $3k for a new Softail, they wouldn't finance because i had just got a job, then i had all but $300 for a new, year old model Buell at the same dealer, they wouldn't budge on the price.

I pay cash for all my toys.
The only things I have ever financed are the houses I've lived in.
Things cost much less in the long run when paid for in cash when purchased. But that said, I don't think there is anything wrong with financing a bike, and I certainly don't think any less of anyone who does.
In would guess that if the costs of riding and repairing a POS bike was close to the cost of the finance charges and depreciation on a new bike . . . well then . . . I'd have to say that it's definitely time to finance!
