I know helmet topics have been beat to death, but, is there any better low profile half helmet than a Skid Lid? I have an HCI half helmet and am hoping for something smaller and also something that doesn't lift at speed. are there any half helmets that don't lift at speed??

 

I have the skid lid as long as it is tight doesnt lift

Check out the Daytona half shells. I'm thinking about getting one to check out. I'm covered with a Fulmer half shell right now and it's not that bad really. If I don't have it tight it lifts so I just snug it up before launch. Definitely doesn't give the mushroom effect as far as size etc. But I believe the Daytonas are smaller.

I took a tape measure to the store and found Fulmers to be smaller OD than SkidLids, so I went with the Fulmer.

 

I had a SkidLid for about 30 minutes..ordered it online (i forget what model, but it was supposed to be the lowest-low-profile they made), it was actually bigger than my HD half-helmet and made a huge mushroom head..sent it right back, ordered a RockHard 3/4 helmet, couldn't be happier. Can't hear a damn thing with it on, but it's still really comfortable.

 

The Outlaw ultra slim is supposed to be minimal for a DOT, I am waiting for flat black to come back into stock but if you like gloss blk then Leather Up has them for 39.95

 

My Skull Crush is the best fitting helmet I have ever tried.

After that I also like my Outlaw (its the 1st version that was thinner).
