Christiansburg,Va. HD closing
Got an e mail yesterday that after 3 years of trying to make a go of it they are closing up shop. The Roanoke HD is going to absorb their inventory.

Man, seems like the dealerships are dropping like flies!
It seems there is a new thread every other day about another closing...
I guess the remaining dealers will be better off, but still makes me sad to see all
these closures!

I think it's all part of the MOCO's plann to keep prices as high as possible. They are pressuring the dealerships to build palaces for showrooms and incentivising them for it. The little dealerships can't keep up and fold which means less price competition and tighter inventory control.
I've got two dealerships within 20 minutes of my house and I know one of them is in trouble with the MOCO. I have 4 dealerships within an hour of me and 2 of them are owned by the same group so they have considerable power in controlling price. The days of waiting lists for new bikes are inching their way back

Christiansburg and Roanoke HD are owned by the same family so absorbing the inventory is basically just moving stuff to their other store.
Both locations have a good group of guys but I always found Christiansburg to be a bit more laid back and easier to strike a deal with, which goes to show that sales people have a bit more leeway in helping to negotiate a deal than they let on.
