Default Jag or hd cooler?

Looking at the jag or hd that both mount on the frame downtube. The part I like about the jagg is the ability to add the manual or automatic override for when it's cool out.

What's the opinions?

Back in 09, in 3 issues of American Iron,(Aug, Sept, Oct, I believe) Donny Peterson did a series on oil coolers. He chose the Jagg over the H-D because the Jagg had less "pressure drop". I'll try to explain. The oil has to go thru the cooler "slow" enough for the fins to disipate the heat, yet "quickly" enough to get back into the motor. The Jagg did the better job of the two. I'm planning on putting the 10 row Jagg on my down tubes before next summer.

Jagg all the way. Think HD makes theirs?

I'm not sure what you mean when you say override, but both are available with a thermostat so riding in cooler weather should not be a concern.

I had the HD premium cooler on my bike for a while and switched to the fan assisted Jagg cooler. The oil temperature with the Jagg cooler is about 10° lower going down the road than the HD. I can't really compare the around town temperature as the HD cooler did not have a fan.

I am very satisfied with the Jagg cooler.
