As long as Harley keeps building and assembling the bikes in the U.S. factories (HD has factories in PA, MO, and WI last time I checked) the actual percentage of parts manufactured here isn't a big concern to me. Harley is still a U.S.A. company and the bikes are still made by U.S. employees. The day they move production overseas is the day I'll start looking for a different brand of bike.

Thunder Press magazine says the Harley is 95% made in the usa. Toyota Tundra is more made in the usa than the F-150, Dodge Ram or Chevy Silverado. Strange world.

Also when you say American you are including Mexico, Canada, Brazil and a lot of other countries.

Other than the forks, my guess is the vast majority is made in the US. The price alone seems to support it....

Or is it just assembled in the USA?
Until a couple of weeks a go the mag wheels were made in Australia!
I seem to recall that Honda advertised that there Goldwing had more US made parts than a HD?

Here you go Bob.
This is one of the reasons I started the original post, most of the HD parts I bought for my 48 had Made in China on the packs, front axle covers , Derby cover, rear axle covers, ect.
Heres the 48,

Here it is after I changed the aircleaner to a RSD one

And heres the 48 in my shed working on the forks

I recently sold that and now have a really nice 2006, Dyna FXD35

And heres the 35 last weekend in my shed as I was fitting the Progressive springs and fitting the thicker headstem washer, I had a knock and the washer was recommended by HD to stop that.
I dont have a big shed, but do all my own work

I almost forgot my T140 I am building at a mates place, (as you can see my shed is too small for that one)
I am doing this as a hardtail 70's style chopper, I have fitted a Sporty front end to it and most of the parts I have actually purchased from the USA

Bob, you could say "I ride" but only for the last 35 years
