anybody here think ABS would have made a difference in a split second decision?
First amazing that HD won in CA .
I have ABS on my 2011 RGU first time I owned one with it. I had rode a couple BMW's with it a short ways on highway.
Now that I have it I like it in a prefect world with years of skill I could stop faster without.
Worlds not prefect it can help you stay in control long enough to avoid or lessen what is about to go wrong.
No madder how proactive you ride one day you, someone else or a combination of both are going to do every thing they can to mess up your day. ABS is just another tool.
The rider had 14 months to read the manual and get familiar with his ride and the woman blamed H-D because the ABS "IDIOT" light was on the dash even though the bike was not so equipped. They thought the bike had ABS because there was a light on the speedo/tach saying it did!
WTF!
the 'idiot light' wasn't even on the dash, it was just the cutout in the face of the gauge. there was nothing there to light.....
i can just imagine that the defense attorney for hd had a hey day with them. 'did you read your owner's manual?' 'what did it say about the abs operation? oh, if the light illuminated at start and then went out upon moving then the system was operating properly. did yours light up at start? no? then why were you operating a motorcycle that the system, if in fact you would have had it, would not have been operating properly?'
America is a sue happy country. We need to learn to take responsibility for our actions and stop blaming others. Amazing, they should have chalked it up as their stupidity.

I agree 100% . If you so much as look at someone the wrong way, they want to sue you.
