international motorcycle show

Well I had a good time at he NY show. Made a point to walk the entire thing at least once. Looked at all the makers booths, sat on the new Victorys, BMWs, Ducatis, etc. One thing struck me about the Victorys and the hondas that looked like Victorys, etc. PLASTIC so many things that are heavy metal on my bike seem to be cheap little pieces of plastic on these. And even though I could'nt ride them the steering felt ? bicycle like. Don't know how to describe it.
The custom bikes that were along the middle of the hallways were awsome. Truely some incredible art/machine blends. AndNew York Harley had 3 or 4 incredible customs, the only Harley dealer authorized to have thier own logo with the old subway token design.

Guess What I Bought?
Hey Jeff- Carnegie is over-rated and over priced. Katz's always has an hour wait to get in the door and is in the Lower East Side on Houston. I would opt for Second Avenue Deli or Sarge's.

I took the couple of suggestions I got here and went to Sarge's Deli afterward and got a hot pastrami sandwich on rye with a side of derma and a celery soda.
FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH - GOOD PASTRAMI. CRISP PICKLES (loved the sours) AND TASTY SLAW!
The show was pretty good and I got what I went for. I purchased some Blaze anti fog / lense cleaner, a Big Skinny wallet (I was sorry I didn't last year) and I started a dialog with a friend from Long Island about trading in my 09 Road King for a new or leftover Electra Glide Classic. Talk is cheap but he thinks it might be worth my while purseuing! We'll see.

Pharaoh you got some nice pix! Everytime I tried about 50 people would swoop in and spoil the shot. Some great stuff there. Went to the Landmark Tavern for eats afterwards, good food. Weather sucked Saturday but there still looked like quite a turnout.

I was in NY on friday. The Victories seem to be getting less ugly. L O T S of activity at that display. The Judge looked cool and felt light from the seat. 106 with a six speed. But those motors are a little boring in the looks department IMHO. The Harley display was kind of quiet and not very conspicuous. I got the sense that they are coasting in the marketing if that makes any sense. All the other brands of bikes seem to be getting bigger and bigger, more complicated and over the top. You still can't beat HD for the "now that's a motorcycle" factor.(the 48 especially)

Crowd
I went on Saturday and was surprised at the number of people who showed up in the lousy weather. Nice turnout.
I thought the Indian Chief's looked pretty cool. I'd never buy one but the paint and appearance was better than I anticipated. Old school classic.
