I was just wondering what you guys thought on this price on a stage 2 big bore kit. Includes power commander and dyno tune. $1667 plus tax. Thanks for the input.

 

If it is all H-D or comparable parts, doesn't sound too bad to me for a 'out-the-door' price. You should make sure if they are furnishing new cylinders that they aren't the ones that are floating around on the Internet and are made in China. I have read really bad things about them.

Can you come up with a better description of the job? Just calling it a Stage II upgrade leaves too much latitude to the shop doing the job for me. I would want to be shown an actual (to be used) Parts List; work to be done on heads; methods to be used in machining; what will the final compression be; and what final tuning steps will be done.

I would also want to know their past history of such jobs and would ask for the name and phone number of a couple of past customers. You get a poor job in this modification and it can ruin the entire rest of time that you own that particular bike. ....... BC
