Go with the D-rings, my quick disconnect is the only complaint I have about the helmet. Don't bother with the ear flaps, I just use a insulated bandanna to cover my ears in the cold weather, and remove the foam liner, the helmet fits me more comfortably that way. I like my visor, I don't get any wind at all, but I pull it down to just above my eye level, and I think I look pretty cool that way!

Quick release!!!!!!. Erin in customer service at ACC is great. I'm sending my second helmet back to them cuz I can't make up my friggin mind what size I need. But I've tried both, d-ring and quick release, and definitely staying with the quick release.

Just be aware that helmet quick releases are not legal in CA.

I love my helmet from them, but if I had the choice again I would get the D-ring's. The quick release sucks I always put mine in crooked and have 1 Hell of a time getting it off!
I agree. I have always had D rings on all helmets before. I have put this one together wrong several times.

I have the quick release on mine, and I like it a lot.

Cheers!

My dads first day with the helmet it flew off his head......he doesn't like the quick disconnect. I, on the other hand never had an issue with the helmet coming off, but it is a pain to get used to it. I can't stand d-rings though. I have a black cherry, I like it, but I also like natural carbon fiber. Both look awesome. As far as the flaps, if they are not removeable, I wouldn't get them. JMHO

Good luck, which ever way you order the helmet, He will love it!

I have the natural carbon fiber dot polo, i have quick release and i am sending it back fri, to have d-rings put on i find the quick realease awkward, and time consuming plus dosen`t seem to stay in place always slips, pass on the ear things, if your worried about ears get a full face, i have sold over a dozen of these everyone see`s mine and asked where i got, (for what all that s777 is worth)

Wow they do look snazzy! Don't know if they'd fit my big ole' egg shaped noggin.. I always have to try them on because I've got a big ole' oval head instead of round so they always hit me in the forehead and back.. I might break down and try one of these though.

I'd opt for the D-ring.. Those quick releases 1. don't strike me as very secure and 2. I always pinched myself trying to snap the thing in and 3. uncomfortable (to me). My vote.. D-Rings.

Nice Christmas goodie!! Lucky fella!
