j&s vs pitt bull motorcycle lifts
#4
Can't tell you the differences but I own a Pitbull manual lift I use for my Heritage. Excellent lift if you don't mind spending the money.
A quick check of their website says it will lift a Dyna with no adapters.

The Pitbull will cost you more and I think it goes a couple of inches higher. I have the J&S, and like others have said, it holds my Wide Glide without any adapters and is rock solid without tie downs. In fact, my bike has been sitting on my jack for a couple of weeks now.

Thanks so much for the replies...I think they both are good lifts...just need to look at them more closely. I do my own oil changes...hopefully something like this will make things easier!

You have to buy the Pitt Bull Dyna lift for dyna models since the PB Standard won't work, but the J&S will work on all harleys. I bought a used J&S.

The J&S has a convenient option for draining oil which is very nice.
The PitBull is beefier and has zirk fittings to grease the wheels.
Both are winners.

Pitbull for Dynas, which I have for my Softails. Hands down #1. It takes up a little more space, is a bit heavier but the 7" (18 J&S, 25 PB) lift height advantage is fantastic. The grease fittings & the PB's overall stronger frame also gives it an advantage. The J&S is a great jack too but put them side by side & it's the PB. Also, with the Dyna lift arms on the PB, the opening is much wider then any other jack & the support cross bars are not in the way of the underside of the bike like some other jacks. Well worth the $$$$$$.
