Default Metzler Reviews ?

I' pretty shure i 'm going to put Metzlers on my 85 FXST. What i'm looking for is feedback from anyone who is or was running them on their bike. I don,t care about milage, My main concern is improved handling and wet grip. Have run Dunlops since 84 and from what i've been told the Metzlers will make a big difference in handling...........Any of your real world experiences would be greatly appericiated..............THANKS

I use Avons, but stock Dunlops are bad for grip. Changing them out always improves handling.

I have ME880s on my Night Train, and they are VAST improvement in handling and wet riding, and they don't follow grooves in the road. They seem to be wearing at the same rate as or better than the stock Dunlops.

Cheers!

Put Metzeler tire on my 1989 Softail Springer. It has made a difference in how it rides. I did not change out the front Dunlop tire but I am thinking about putting a Metzeler on the front.

I like to hear about the Metzeter's also I need to put new sneakers on my ride also but I haven't decided what brand yet either. My Dunlop's have handled pretty well so far and I get about 10,000 out of my rears and 19,000 out of my front,so as far as longevity goes they do OK but any extra handling would be nice to count on.

George, they are the best tires I've had on my bike so far. Like Clammy said.

Just put a set of Metzler 880's on my bike and the grip is excellent and the day I got them I went the back way around the mountain in a huge rain storm adding another 50 miles on the way back from the HD. Brand new tires mind you and about an inch of water rolling down the mountain and I had no trouble at all. Travel speed was lower for obvious reasons but they did real well.

Something else I put 160/60 18's on the back and had a number of questions about the tires. The HD didn't know a damn thing about Metzlers so I downloaded a huge chart off there site and left my name on their 800 number. The technical guys called back the same day and we went over how to achieve what I needed. They were extremely helpful.

I've used the ME880's for years on my last bike and wet/dry grip was outstanding. I also got over 10K with them on an RKC which was loaded on trips..... As soon as these Dunlops wear out, I'm going to the 880's again on another RKC.
My son runs Avon and swqears by them...
Good Luck.
