I left-turn-signalled a buffalo in Yellowstone. He went left, I went right. Showed him.

The horn just makes the cage driver smile, knowing he pissed you off. It comes in handy to wipe the smile off his face if you rip it off the bike and swing it by the wires alongside his head.

It wouldn't be a problem if someone invented a horn button/suppository. The pucker factor would work quickly.

I learned early on that trying to find the horn button always put me way past the point that I needed it.

I would be half a block away before I found it. I did however "Hi Beam" a few. LOL

I now just rely on the pipes for those times I need to sound off quickly.

In an emergency situation I am too busy grabbing clutch and brakes to even think about a horn. If I am just a little pissesd at a clueless driver, I can uaually find the horn butten to get his/her attention so they are sure to see my one-finger salute.

This. I usually can't find the horn fast enough in my car either.

I do notice the loud pipes have people looking my way ahead of time anyway...

Better to just drive defensively. About the only thing a horn is for is saying "you dumb *** hole". Just accept the fact your the only one out there with any sense and fill sorry for them.

Also totally amazed that this is my first pole I'm with the majority.

This thread got me to wondering, so put some warm clothes on, went out in the garage, went back for a flashlight (these old eyes don't see so well in the dark), and - there it is. Now I see why the horn blows sometimes when I hit the left turn signal... This is a girl's bike, or for someone with smaller thumbs. Or not so old and clumsy...

On a Harley, if the motor didn't get their attention, the horn probably won't either.

My original horn wasn't worth the trouble. I now have a Mini Beast 2 and when I hit the button, even the brain-dead texters hear me.

If I could find the horn button when I needed it I probably wouldn't use it anyway. Way too wimpy and definitely a problem that HD needs to fix.
