Is there proper placement for patches...

not a good idea to wear a 1%er patch unless you are considered one, go to some of the big rallys, like little Sturgis, ?sturgis on the river, and a couple of others and you may lose your patch, most times they just tell you to cut it off, but if you run accross a prospect thast wants to make his bones it could be different..better to not hav one on your cutoff. anything else is pretty much ok as long as it isn't a 3 peice patch, meaning a top rocker and a bottom rocker..some clubs are pretty touchy about that kind of stuff.

Like everyone else has said, the only "rules" that are considered:
No "colors" unless you are in a club- Colors are Top Rocker, Bottom Rocker and club patch in between.
American Flag should be the highest patch wherever you place it- Most common placement is on the sleeve of a jacket (right) or on the Left side of a vest.
Most people tend to place a large factory patch across the sholder blades of their vest is they are not in a club. This way it cannot be confused for "colors" no matter what else you place on your back.

I would think a true 1% would not wear (or need to wear) a patch saying so !

I would have to say no, a folded flag is in remembrance of the Colonial Army (that is why it is folded into a triangle) and when folded right there should be 13 Stars showing representing the Original 13 Colonies. Though it is part of our past time it is not to be placed higher than the American Flag.

Sorry guys, forgot those two. Somebody else asked a question that I couldn't answer about this.
The representation on the folded flag - the triangle of blue w/ white stars, would it be proper to "fly" this higher than the flag on the opposite side?
My initial reaction was no, nothing should be higher than the US flag.
