Was coming to work today, I take a shortcut through part of Seattle, it was a sunny day but cold and I saw a fair number of bikes out. No Harleys...come to think of it, all I've ever seen in the city are scooters, older standard metrics and of course crotch rockets. Has anyone else ever noticed this in your big city environment? Wonder why?

 

We have lots of Harley's in our big city environment. Are you talking about just in the downtown area?

 

Most people around here take their big twins out to the country to ride.

 

If they are using them for simple point A to point B, they probably don't need a Harley. Just something cheap and reliable. Plus, parking can be a real problem and they may not have a secure spot for their bike. I live in the DC area- I wouldn't use my bike for commuting. I'd rather have a reliable metric beater for that purpose. Too much stop and go, worrying about theft/vandalism for me to take my harley out. I don't see too many harleys around here either.
