I always deploy my Jiffy Stand prior to dismounting my Scooter after enjoying a leisurely Sunday afternoon Putt!

The term has apparently been around for a while, but I've never actually heard anyone use that term in conversation.

The term may have been around for awhile, but it never caught on (and never will). It's a kick stand to all riders I know.

Even joking my buddies would physically remove my man card from me for saying that.

And I will never, ever call it a jiffy stand.

Come over here and say that! Harley calls it a jiffy stand (presumably because it can be deployed in a jiffy - a term for quickly employed AFIK only by the extremely old). In Britain it's a sidestand. As opposed to a centre stand. Logical you see. And it avoids confusion between kickstand and kickstart for you foreign chappies who struggle with English...

It's a Dam "Kickstand"
At one time my Kickstand for my 1940 Flathead 80" was a small piece of 2X4 that I put under the frame to hold it up....
One day I was riding and picked some Broad, I handed her the 2x4 kickstand and told her to hold it....
After a few beer stops, I ask her for it, she says" that old thing, I threw it away....
I hope she had a nice walk....
I honestly never herd it called a Jiffy stand untill just recently....
The things ya learn on the HDForum....

If Harley wanted to use a name to show how much easier and quicker the side stand is than than the center stand, why didn't they just call it a quickstand? But nooo! Now that I think about it, other than jiffypop popcorn "jiffy" is not in my vocabulary! I'll be back in a minute, not a jiffy! I'll be there in a minute, not a jiffy! lol!
