Default Sturgis 2012 Here We come any lodging experience?

Dad and I are headed to the 2012 rally and I have begun to look for lodging anyone have any experience with any of these places?

Palace Express in Lead SD

Mountain View Lodge Hill City

Palmer Gulch Lodge Hill City

Rushmore View Inn

First Gold Hotel and Casino

Black Hills Ponderosa Place

I found these listings off of the motorcycle rally website, and basically these are the ones within the budget we would like to say 250.00/night or less We don't need to be very close to actual sturgis as we only intend on spending 1 or 2 days there the rest of the time we plan on riding as many of the roads as we can. thanks in advance for your input.

No help here, but I'll bump this for you. I can only recommend the super 8 in Hill City, and the Hog Heaven campground if you like to camp.

Guess these aren't the most popular places to stay or it could have something to do with it being almost a year away but don't want to wait till the last minute either this is probably a once in a lifetime trip for both of us. thanks for the bump though

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Deadwood. Four night minimum at $400/nite.

Stayed in a cabin in RApid City. For the life of me I can't remember the name. It wasn't cheap, but I had a roof over my head, a hot shower, TV and a full kitchen. I'm not a camper, so this worked well. It was especially nice when we located a shuttle service called Jonzey who carried us form Rapid City to Sturgis for $30 round trip. The vans are scary, but they served $2 beers and $3 jello shooters out of a cooler stuck between the driver and passenger seat. I would do this again in a heartbeat

Try holiday inn express in Custer. Nice place, close enough to everything.
Now if you want to be in the middle of everything I can't help you, we always ride to where we are going.

The cabins in Rapid City are $175 a night. I have them rented till Friday morning 8/10, you can rent them by the day after that. Here is the link http://www.willowspringscabins.com/ Have fun.

Think about going the week before. Plenty of stuff already going on and a bunch cheaper. And not as packed.
