My latest aparatus thing...
I found this site with this thing that is supposed to hold your bike up without using the jiffy stand. I said to myself, "WTF, that'll never work". After a while I started to think... If they're selling these things there must be something to it. So I decided to build my own just to see if the thing was feasible. So, I found some scrap aluminum 2" square tube and built this thing, all 5 lbs. of it. All the way home I'm thinking, "Why the hel1 did I build this thing?".
Guess what, after I got it mounted to the floor and rolled the bike into this thing, it actually held the bike upright. Then I got a little risky and wiggled the bike, nothing happened, then I wiggled it a little harder, still nothing, then I shook that sucker real hard. Guess what happened next? Nothing! The bike just stood there like it was waiting for another shake.
Wierd, it works. Now, what do i do with it? My bike has a jiffy stand to keep it from falling over and this winter I'll be doing mods to my bike that will keep it on the lift for most of the winter. any suggestions as to why they build this thing? As far as I understand it, all Harleys have a jiffy stand. Maybe this thing keeps the jiffy stand from getting scratched on the garage floor?

Nice work for sure. I think you could improve it by putting something right behind the tire that you have to drive over so the bike won't roll back. IMO, it wouldn't have to be very big, maybe an inch high.

These things are made for trailers? I don't put my biker on a trailer, I don't even own a trailer.
I guess that makes me a GRUB (garage RUB). Wait a minute... I own a garage and I am a biker but I live in the city and I'm not rich, so, I guess I'm only a GB. That makes no sense. [:@]
As for a "center stand", it's mounted to the floor like you said, but I don't think it'll be real convenient to bring along on trips.

Well, when you can store a bike straight up then you save floor space (the footprint of the bike looking down from above), so you get more room for toys. I'll bet if you put three of those in there then you could get three bikes in the space it would normally take for two on Jiffys. There you have it... you can go out and buy another bike (Ain't geometry fun??)
